Today, the SGA coordinated another roadside clean-up along Reservoir road. The little more than 2-mile stretch has belonged to the campus’ SGA for years. It is a good-faith gesture to the community that we care about area in which the campus resides.
There is great importance in the symbiotic relationship between campus and community. The community relies on the campus to provide its educational services to its citizens in order to create a skilled, knowledgeable, and well-paid work force. It is expected to teach good citizenship to its students. In return, the community provides donations of time, money, or skillful expertise to the campus. The two most significant contributions to the campus are donations, and guiding support in the form of the Campus Advisory Board.
Cooperatively, we work together to create a better, stronger, and cleaner community. And as part of our “good faith” effort, we would like to offer to the greater Back Mountain area our blood, sweat… and 12 bags of garbage.
